Makeover Monday

The past month has been so much fun in the salon. It seems like everyone is up for changes! Makeovers are part of the reason I love my job! How fun is it to completely change someones look? Here's some before and after pictures to help getcha through the dreadful Monday! Enjoy!

This is Karen. She's our beautiful receptionist at Chroma! She was feeling a lil dull and wanted a change. Her boyfriend absolutely loves her new color!

Here's Jill. We chopped her hair off! She's such a sassy lil diva now!! I hope her husband doesn't want to kill me though!

It's Taylor!  This is her first time coloring her hair- EVER! How cute is she?!

And last but not least, here's Jessica. (a coworker at Chroma) She was sick of her dark and wanted to go to the fun side! Ha! ;)  We were in the salon for 5 hours with this one! Yep, 5!
Talk about a make-ova!

Here are all the beauts side by side!!

Feet Recovery

So between sand volleyball and being on my feet all day, my feet HATE me! They completely despise me since I haven't treated them to the all needed pedicure. Yep, don't know if I have gotten one this entire summer! Oh boy, that's why they look disgusting!!

Well, here's a few products to have on hand, a foot file, a callus remover (if you let your feet get like mine), a scrub and some lotion!  Here's what I did after my morning shower...

My feet are as soft as a baby's bum!! I think Nick might even want to give me a foot massage now!  Ha!

Oh and here's the recipe for the amazing sugar scrub! You'll love this stuff! (And better yet, you prolly have every ingredient in your kitchen now!)  I didn't take pictures of it when I used it this morning, it's a lil messy! Use the scrub right after you buff the callus lotion off and then rinse. Apply lotion and you are good to go!

You will need:
Brown sugar
Reg. White Sugar
Veggie Oil or Olive Oil
Vanilla (only if you want to smell yummy!!)

Start with 1/2 cup of each sugars. Mix together and then slowly add a little bit of the oil. Mix again and add a little more oil til the sugars are saturated. I added about a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and mixed one more time. It's that easy!! 5 minutes tops! Now go rub it on those footies!!

Much love!! =)

Bun Head

I'm always looking for quick easy ways to style my hair that make it look like I spent some time doing it! I loooove my job of making others pretty, but I hate doing my own hair! I don't know why. I could spend hours fixing other peoples hair, but when it comes to my own, I want something done fast! The bun is just that, quick and easy!

I'm sure you remember this picture I posted on facebook!

What you need to create this look is:
  • pony tail holder
  • hair pins + 1 bobby pin
  • hair spray
  • comb
Step One: put your hair in a pony tail and leave just the tail end still out.

Step Two: Take your one bobby pin and tuck the ends into the pony.

Step Three: Position the loop around to shape the bun.

Step Four: Start pinning the around the bun. Go straight down with the hair pin and then push in for a secure hold!

Step Five: Hold your breath and spray!!!

Here's a video if you like visual instructions!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday! My day off yesterday was so much fun and much needed! I met up with some wonderful ladies for a little happy hour at Red Lounge. It's been a while since I've seen some of those purdy smiles, so it was great catching up. I sure do miss working with you gals! We need to make this a mandatory happy hour once a month! (if not more!)  Much love! =)

hmmph...i miss you gals!

Throwback Thursday

So I was talking to some girls at work about how I used to have short, dark hair. They didn't believe me so I had to show them pictures. I decided to do a look back at all my awful do's! I just had to share them with you!! =)  Enjoy!

Hair Chalk

I came across this hair chalk at a hair show and decided I HAD to have it!! It's perfect for those people that don't want the hassle and maintenance of permanent color. To apply it all you have to do is take a small section of hair and run the chalk down it. Spray some hairspray on it to lock it in and you are good to go!! If you want more of a vibrant color, you can spray your strand of hair with a leave in conditioner. It just washes out with your next shampoo!!

I did the purple and teal on my hair and this is how it turned out...

And it even shows up on dark hair!!

(this is a manikin and it's sitting on my lap- that's why it looks funny!!)

OMGosh!! How fun is this stuff? I'm going to put in an order for some black and red ones for Husker season...who wants some? (I can also put in an order for yellow and black for that "other" team!)  Let me know!
