Trendy Nails

I love looking for new trends in the beauty world. One of the hottest new trends is filing your fingernails to a point. I'm actually loving it right now! It's always fun to do different things as I started getting bored with the square looking nails.  Haven't you? Have you seen any of your favorite celebs rockin these nails? Reading my weekly gossip magazines (don't knock them, you know you read em too!), I'm seeing picture after picture of these ladies with the new nails. Here are some of the pics I've seen.

I need to grow mine a little longer, but I started to do it! What do you think of the new nail trend?

Weekend Hair

Happy Friday Ya'll! I figured before you start getting ready for the weekend, I would post a video on how to get some volume using a flat iron.  A lot of people think that if they straighten their hair, they will lose volume. So not true! I think using a flat iron to get volume is ah-mazing! Especially if you have a short 'do. The shorter your hair is, the easier for you to get volume. Stupid weight of long hair and gravity. Boo! Luckily, a flat iron technique and some good hair products will help me get closer to God! You've heard that saying, "The bigger the hair, the closer to God"....No? Well anyway....Here's the video. Enjoy!! (Oh and the first product I show is by Biomega, which is an Aquage product not Biolage! Oopsies! My bad!)

Now go out and enjoy this gorgeous weather!! Also, this is so not a beauty thing but the Big Buck Classic is going on at the Century Link Center here in Omaha this weekend. My brother in law and his family are the ones that put it together so you know its a good show! If you or anyone you know is interested in the hunting or the outdoors, you should definitely check it out! Even if you're not a hunter, like me, they have a real live grizzly bear, black bear and cougar!! Who doesn't want to see that?!! Also check them out on Facebook!

Golden Globes

I love watching all red carpets. More so than the actual award show. The dresses. The hair. The good. The bad. I was pretty shocked to see there was a lack of actual up do's for the Golden Globes. There were quite a few celebs that had their hair curled and down or to one side. Here are a few of my favorites!!

I'm not a fan of Katherine McPhee's messy 'do. She should have done it more like Emily Blunt's sleek bun.

These are the hairstyles that I did not like! Sophia's hair was waaaay to simple and it did nothing for that gorgeous dress she was wearing! I love Adele and Kristen Bell but those up do's are awful!

Adele and Kristin should have gone to these ladie's hair stylists!

My absolute favorite from head to toe was JLo!!! Stun-ning!!!

A close second is Eva Longoria!

Hello 2013

It is a New Year, a fresh start! Although I am extremely happy with the way my life is right at this very moment, I always enjoy a new beginning! This past year was wonderful. I or should I say WE conquered our first year of marriage! I kept hearing that "the first year is the hardest", but I have to say, it was prolly the easiest! I'm so in love with that man! =)  Anyway, back to 2012... I also turned a corner in my career and switched salons. It was a happy leap and I have to say I love all my Chroma girls! I also created this blog and it, along with my clients have kept me motivated to learn and try new things. It keeps me passionate about doing hair! (which is always a good thing!) 2012 was a fantastic year and I really cannot wait to see what 2013 has in store for me!  But first, here's a look back at my 2012....
